# About Toly

Toly is an independent app. One person designs it, builds it, and reads every email about it.

## A note from Reza

Hi, I’m Reza. I’m a product designer with more than ten years of experience.

For years I ran a page that taught English words. It grew to 500,000 followers, all organic, and it showed me how much of learning a language is really learning its words.

Many of my followers used Anki, and most of them weren’t happy with it. It felt complicated and hard on the eyes, but they had no better choice. The other flashcard apps I tried were either hard to use or not pleasant to look at.

As a product designer, I knew I could make something better: an app that is easy to use, beautiful to look at, and does the slow part, making the cards, for you. That app is Toly.

Toly is independent. I design and build it in Istanbul, there are no ads, and your cards stay in your own iCloud. If Toly helps you, a rating on the App Store means a lot to me. If something feels wrong, write to me. That’s how it gets better.

## Who makes Toly

Reza Ghenaat is a product designer based in Istanbul, with more than ten years of work on health, education, real estate and customer support products.

Before Toly, he grew an English vocabulary page to 500,000 followers. Toly brings both together: years of designing software, and years of teaching words.

## What you can expect

- **Your cards stay yours**: They live in your iCloud. No ads, no selling your data, and your cards are never used to train AI.
- **You have the last word**: Toly writes the first draft of every card. You can change anything, or write the back yourself.
- **A person answers**: Email hello@toly.app and Reza reads it. Most of what changes in Toly starts in someone’s email.

> He has been an integral part of this company by always bringing forward innovative ideas, educated well researched solutions and creating designs to perfection.
