# Scan a page. Keep the words.

Books, menus, signs, handouts. Take a photo, pick the words you want, and Toly writes a full card for each one.

## From photo to cards in seconds

Toly reads the page and picks the words that look new to you. Keep its picks, add others, or remove any with a tap. Then choose a deck: each word becomes a finished card with meaning, example, and pronunciation.

## How scanning works

1. **Open Scan**: From the New card sheet or any deck.
2. **Take or choose a photo**: Use the camera, or pick a photo you already have.
3. **Pick the words**: New-looking words are already selected. Change any pick.
4. **Add them**: Toly writes a card for each word and adds it to your deck.

## Good things to scan

- **Books and articles**: Collect the words you meet while reading, without stopping to look each one up.
- **Menus and signs**: Turn the real-world words from a trip into your next review.
- **Class handouts**: Pull key terms from a worksheet or your own notes before an exam.

## Questions

### Can I scan on the free plan?

Yes. Each word you add uses one of your daily AI cards, so on the free plan you can add up to 3 a day.

### How many words can I add from one page?

With Toly PRO, up to 20 words per scan.

### Can I use a photo instead of the camera?

Yes. Choose any photo from your library.

### Which languages can Toly read?

Scanning works with the same 13 languages Toly supports for cards.
