Open the create-card screen, tap Scan below the input, and photograph the page in front of you. No cropping, no aligning a frame.

Toly extracts the text and lays it out as tappable chips. Nothing becomes a card until you pick it, so a dense page gives you five cards, not five hundred.
The AI writes every back
Each word you tapped goes through the same generation engine as a card you typed by hand — translation, meaning and usage, in about a second each.
Typing was never the useful part.

Can I create flashcards from a photo?
Yes. Tap Scan below the create-card input, photograph any text, and Toly extracts the words as tappable chips. Tap the ones you want and the AI writes a complete flashcard for each one.
Where do I find Scan in the app?
Inside the create-card modal, directly below the text input. There is no separate screen or menu to go through — creating a card by typing and creating one from a photo start in the same place.
What languages does scanning support?
The same thirteen languages Toly supports everywhere else: English, Español (Latinoamérica), Español (España), Português (Brasil), Français, Deutsch, Türkçe, 日本語, 한국어, 繁體中文, Tiếng Việt, العربية and فارسی.
Is scanning limited on the Free plan?
You can scan on Free and turn a number of scanned words into cards each day. PRO removes that ceiling and adds Select All, which turns every word on a photographed page into cards in one tap.
Does every word on the page become a card?
Only the ones you tap. Scanning is a picker, not a bulk import — which matters, because a deck full of words you did not choose is a deck you will stop reviewing.
Can I edit a scanned card?
Yes. Scanned cards are ordinary cards: fully editable before and after saving, and scheduled by the same spaced-repetition engine as everything else in your deck.
