Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and the choices you have.
This policy explains what information the Toly app and the toly.app website collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect little.
Information we collect
- Your cards and decks. The words, cards, and decks you create are stored in your iCloud account, linked to your Apple ID. We don’t keep a separate copy on our own servers.
- Text you send to the AI. When you create a card with AI, the word, phrase, concept, or question you type (or the words you pick from a scan) is sent to our AI provider, Google Gemini, to write the card. It is used only to write your card.
- Photos you scan. Photos are used only to find the words on the page. We don’t store your photos.
- Subscription status. Purchases are made through the App Store. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, tells the app whether you have Toly PRO. We never receive your payment details.
- Basic usage and crash data. We may collect limited, non-identifying data (such as which features are used and crash reports) to fix bugs and improve the app. This never includes the content of your cards.
How we use information
- To write the cards you ask for.
- To sync your decks and progress across your Apple devices.
- To manage your subscription and free trial.
- To fix problems and improve Toly.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your personal information.
- We don’t show ads, and we don’t build advertising profiles.
- We don’t use your cards to train AI models.
Service providers
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, iCloud storage and sync, App Store purchases.
- Google Gemini: writing card content.
- RevenueCat: subscription management.
Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy.
This website
toly.app doesn’t use advertising cookies. It saves your Light or Dark preference in your browser’s local storage, which never leaves your device.
Keeping and deleting data
Your data stays in your iCloud account while you use Toly. You can delete all your data from Settings → Delete all data in the app. Data in iCloud also follows your Apple account’s settings.
Children
Toly is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Email us and we’ll help.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
